Who we are

Caldera Technologies Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through caldera-technologies.com. You can reach us about anything in this notice at hello@caldera-technologies.com, and we will provide a postal address on request.

What we collect

If you send us an enquiry, we collect the name, organisation, email address, enquiry subject and message you give us.

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used. It records the pages you visit, whether you click our email address or send us an enquiry (never what you write, or your name or contact details), roughly where in the world you are, and what device and browser you used, and sets cookies on your device to recognise a returning visit. Google processes that data for us and, as an independent controller, for its own purposes.

We ask first. Until you accept in the cookie banner, Google Consent Mode tells Google’s tags not to store or read analytics cookies, and our measurement tags do not run. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. The lawful basis for analytics is your consent.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Our fonts and images are served from our own server, so page loads themselves make no third-party request beyond the measurement tags described above.

Why we may lawfully use it

We use enquiry details to answer your enquiry and, where it leads somewhere, to quote for and deliver work. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our products, and, once there is an order, the performance of a contract.

We do not send marketing email to addresses collected through this form unless you separately ask us to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years, so that we have context if you come back to us. Where an enquiry becomes a project, the correspondence is retained with the project records for as long as we may need it to support equipment we have supplied, and to meet our own legal and accounting obligations.

Who else sees it

Enquiries are recorded in our customer records system, which runs on Odoo and is hosted for us by Odoo S.A., and the people here who answer them are notified by email. Our email and hosting providers process that data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Where it is held

Data is held within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. If that ever changes we will use a transfer mechanism recognised under UK data protection law, and update this notice.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or erase it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, and ask for it in a portable form. Email us and we will deal with it within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps server logs, which include the network address a request came from, for a limited period so that the site can be kept working and secure. We do not use them to build any profile of visitors.
