Designed, fabricated and commissioned by one party

The process design, the vessel, the control panel and the commissioning are all ours. That is not a boast about capability — it is the only arrangement in which nobody can point at somebody else when a system has to prove its duty.

The route

From a duty to a signed commissioning record

01

Duty and survey

We start with the gas: composition, concentration, flow, temperature and the discharge condition you have to meet. Where the extract already exists, we measure it rather than take the drawing at face value.

02

Process design and sizing

Bed depth, liquid-to-gas ratio, reagent chemistry, velocity and pressure drop are calculated against that duty. You get a datasheet with the numbers on it, not a model number.

03

Fabrication

Vessels, tanks and pipework are fabricated in polypropylene, PVDF, GRP or stainless as the chemistry requires, with the control panel built and wired alongside.

04

Works testing

Every system is wet-tested before despatch: pumps run, dosing proved, instruments calibrated, alarms exercised and the panel functionally tested against the I/O schedule.

05

Installation and commissioning

We install and commission, or support your contractor doing it. Commissioning ends with a signed record of the setpoints, the readings and the alarm tests.

06

Service and testing

Planned servicing, reagent and spares, and thorough examination and test at intervals of no more than 14 months where the system forms part of an LEV installation.

Capability

What we do in house

Six disciplines that have to agree with each other for a scrubber to work. Splitting them across suppliers is where most of the trouble comes from.

Process design

Mass transfer sizing, reagent selection, pressure drop and fan duty, discharge modelling.

Fabrication

Thermoplastic and GRP vessel fabrication, tanks, bunds, pipework and skid assembly.

Controls

Panel design and build, PLC and HMI software, instrumentation and BMS integration.

Installation

Mechanical and electrical installation, ductwork, commissioning and performance proving.

Service

Planned maintenance, reagent supply, spares, breakdown attendance and LEV testing.

Documentation

P&IDs, datasheets, O&M manuals, commissioning records and COSHH data for every reagent.

Materials

Chosen for the chemistry, not for the price list

Material selection is a process decision. The wrong polymer against a hot oxidising liquor will not fail at commissioning — it will fail in the third year, which is worse.

We fabricate in thermoplastics and GRP, and specify stainless or lined steel where the duty is hot, abrasive or high-velocity.

  • PolypropyleneGeneral acid duties, laboratory extract, odour control
  • PVDFHypochlorite, hot acid and oxidising service
  • GRPLarge-diameter odour control vessels and ductwork
  • PVC / CPVCPipework and lower-temperature vessels
  • 316L stainlessVenturi throats, hot gas and abrasive duties
  • Rubber-lined steelAbrasive particulate and heavy fume loads
Evidence

Nothing leaves us untested

A scrubber that has never been run wet is an assembly of parts with a hopeful drawing attached. Every system is filled, circulated and functionally tested before despatch.

  • Vessels and tanks leak-tested, and pipework pressure-tested where applicable.
  • Pumps run on duty, spray pattern verified across every nozzle.
  • Instruments calibrated and recorded — pH, ORP, level, flow and differential pressure.
  • Control panel functionally tested against the I/O schedule, point by point.
  • Every alarm and interlock exercised, including the fan interlock.
  • Handover pack: P&ID, datasheet, O&M manual, test certificate and COSHH data.
Afterwards

Service, reagent and statutory testing

Scrubber performance degrades quietly. Packing fouls, nozzles block, probes drift and liquor is spent — and none of it makes a noise. Planned servicing is what keeps the removal you paid for.

Where the system forms part of a local exhaust ventilation installation, it needs a thorough examination and test at intervals of no more than 14 months. We carry that out and issue the report.

Ask about a service agreement

Planned maintenance

Scheduled visits with probe calibration, nozzle checks, packing inspection and a written report.

Reagent and spares

Scrubbing chemicals, dosing pump spares, probes, packing and mist eliminator elements.

LEV thorough examination

Examination and test to support COSHH Regulation 9, with the report you have to keep.

Controls retrofit

Instrumentation and panel upgrades to plant we did not build, where the mechanical side is sound.

Tell us what is in the extract

Send us the gas, the flow and the discharge condition you have to meet. We will tell you what will work, what it will take out, and what it will not — before anyone talks about price.
