About

Power, contained.

Caldera Technologies designs and manufactures wet scrubber systems for chemical process and odour control, with a particular focus on compact scrubbers for laboratory fume cupboards.

The name

A caldera is the stable basin left after an eruption — a crater that contains extraordinary energy. The name says what the equipment does: it contains and controls powerful, hazardous forces, safely.

We are a design-and-build business rather than a distributor. The process design, the fabrication, the control system and the commissioning are all ours, which means there is one party accountable when the system has to prove its duty.

That matters most on the small duties. A compact laboratory scrubber gets the same process calculation, the same works test and the same commissioning record as a plant-scale tower — because the person standing at the fume cupboard is relying on it just as much.

cal·de·ra · noun

A large volcanic basin left when the ground settles after an eruption — a stable crater that contains extraordinary energy.

The name captures what we do: containing and controlling powerful, hazardous forces, safely.

What we value

Four things we hold to

01

Engineered assurance

Safety-critical equipment that performs on every cycle. We test, certify and stand behind it.

02

Elemental thinking

We understand the chemistry, airflow and heat we control — and design from first principles.

03

Clear accountability

One party, from design through manufacture to commissioning. No gaps, no hand-off blame.

04

Responsible by design

Cleaner discharge and lower impact are built in, not bolted on.

How we work

What you can hold us to

Safety-critical equipment is only worth what its evidence is worth. These are the things we do on every job, at every size of duty.

  • We size every system against your duty, and put the numbers on a datasheet.
  • We wet-test every system before it leaves us.
  • We hand over a commissioning record with the setpoints and readings on it.
  • We tell you what a system will not do, as clearly as what it will.
How we talk about it

Plain and precise

Say what it does. Let the engineering speak, keep the claims specific and true, and put the protection of people and the environment first.

We say

“Our scrubbers remove acid gases before discharge, protecting your team and the environment.”

We don’t

“Our world-class, cutting-edge solutions leverage synergies to revolutionise air quality.”

Start with the duty

The most useful first conversation is a technical one. Tell us what the process produces and what you have to achieve, and we will tell you what it takes.
