Cookies

What this site stores on your device, and why.

What we use

Analytics cookies, only if you accept them. On your first visit a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. If you accept, it sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_, which distinguish one visitor from another and remember that you have been here before; they usually last up to two years. If you reject, or ignore the banner, they are not set.

We use Google Tag Manager to load those tags, with Google Consent Mode set so that nothing is stored for analytics until you have said yes. Google Tag Manager itself sets no cookies.

Your choice is remembered in a strictly necessary cookie, caldera_consent, which holds only “granted” or “denied” and lasts about six months, after which we ask again.

The platform the site runs on, Odoo, sets three strictly necessary cookies on every visit. session_id keeps the site working between pages, including protecting the enquiry form against forged submissions, and lasts seven days. frontend_lang remembers the language the site is shown in, and lasts a year. tz holds your browser’s time zone. None of them identifies you or is used to track you.

Apart from those and the consent cookie, nothing we set is needed to make the site work. You can browse every page and read every specification with all cookies blocked; the enquiry form needs the session cookie.

What we do not use

We do not run advertising or remarketing tags, and we do not use social media pixels. Montserrat and Inter are served from our own server rather than a font network, and every image comes from the same origin, so loading a page makes no third-party request other than to Google Tag Manager and the tags it loads.

The JavaScript on public pages opens the mobile menu, fades content in as you scroll, shows the cookie banner and sends the enquiry form. The only choice it stores is your cookie choice.

The engineering calculator is for our own staff, who sign in to use it. It runs entirely in the browser, and remembers the last figures entered in the browser’s local storage so they are there on return; they stay on the device, are never sent to us, and Reset clears them.

Controlling them

Use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page to accept or reject analytics cookies at any time. Rejecting after you have accepted deletes the Google Analytics cookies already set.

Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking them will not stop you using this site. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Links out

Where we link to somewhere else — our LinkedIn page, for instance — that site will have its own cookies and its own policy. This one ends at our boundary.
